Low tide #04

By Matt Nanson

About the Art

Matt Nanson has found his unique approach to image-making has earned him a privileged place in the market, finding success in both fine art and commercial photography. Matt’s Low Tide series is a highly personal project based around the closure of the Leith Water World swimming pool in one of the more deprived areas of Edinburgh city centre. The pool was an important space for the community but was sold to Tesco so they could expand one of their superstores. Low Tide charts the flow of the water leaving the pool, weaving its way through the local area and out to sea.

Artful photographic prints are produced to the highest standard, using Giclee printing on 300 gsm 100% cotton rag fine art paper. This method, accepted by the art world for fine art reproduction, produces a high quality, archival grade digital print. The archival quality of the pigment ink with 100% cotton rag minimises the chemical reaction leading to image fading.

Because Giclee is widely regarded as one of the very best photographic and fine art printing methods it has become extremely popular with artists and photographers displaying their images in art galleries, museums and exhibitions.

Artful is proud to offer a high quality framing service that perfectly compliments the artwork. Using conservation quality wood mouldings, our handmade frames are built for each individual print and arrive ready to hang. The archival quality mount is acid free and pH neutral, so you can be confident your print is well protected.

Artful’s framing service is not only competitively priced but of the highest quality. If you have any requests for further framing options, get in touch.

Artful uses UPS for its UK and international shipping since they’re quick, trustworthy and affordable.

As soon as your artwork is ready to be dispatched, we’ll notify you with the shipping details and tracking number. For UK delivery, shipping is ‘Next Working Day’ but for international, it will take a small while longer.

As you'd expect, all artworks are packed with the utmost care to ensure they reach you safely, but If there is any problem with how an item has arrived we will address the issue immediately.

About the Artist

Artists - Matt Nanson

Since his inaugural unveiling through his degree show and later exhibitions at Free Range London and Printworks, Edinburgh, Nanson has found his unique approach to image making has earned him a privileged place in the market, finding success in both fine art and commercial photography.

Nanson attributes this success (having both art directed and shot numerous advertising campaigns) to his well rounded creative thinking process, coming from a creative background (his mother and Art Teacher and father and Art Director) he has developed an understanding into the significance of invention, imagination and relevance within his work, and employs this when working in either field to try to produce imagery which is fresh and unusual, and always underpinned by a central concept or idea which the image (S) seeks to expose.
